Get in touch
Email singhwithanh@gmail.com with your iPhone model, your AirPods model, and your iOS version. Recenter stores nothing on a server, so there is no account to look up — the more detail you include, the faster this goes.
Recenter cannot answer clinical questions. Which exercise to do, which ear is affected, and how often to practise are questions for your own clinician. If your symptoms are new, severe, unusual, or getting worse, contact a clinician or emergency services rather than emailing support.
What you need
- An iPhone running iOS 17 or later.
- AirPods with head-motion sensors — AirPods Pro, AirPods 3rd generation or later, or AirPods Max — for live coaching.
- Motion & Fitness permission, granted the first time you start a session.
Without compatible AirPods the app still opens and the timer-based modules still run; the live head-tracked coaching is what needs the hardware. To see how a coached session works before you have AirPods, open More → Preview a session, which runs the real coaching screen on simulated head motion.
Troubleshooting
The session says it is waiting for AirPods, but they are connected
This is almost always another device holding the audio route. AirPods can be connected to your iPhone while a Mac, iPad, or Apple Watch is the one actually receiving their motion data. Play audio from the iPhone to pull the route back, then start the session again.
Coaching never leaves "hold still"
Recenter needs a steady, upright, level head to capture a trustworthy zero before it starts counting. Sit upright, look straight ahead, and hold still for a few seconds. If you are lying down or the AirPods have shifted in your ears, take them out, re-seat them, and start again.
I hear no voice cues
Check that More → Voice cues is on, that your ringer/volume is up, and that the AirPods are the active output device. Most cues use the bundled coach voice; countdowns and a few dynamic lines are spoken by the system voice.
I feel no haptics
Haptics come from the iPhone, not the AirPods, so keep the phone on your body or within reach. Check More → Haptics is on, and that iOS Settings → Sounds & Haptics has system haptics enabled.
The session paused on its own
That is deliberate. A call, an AirPod coming out, the app going to the background, or the audio route changing all pause the session immediately and say so, rather than letting you carry on unguided. Tap Resume when you are ready. After a sensor interruption, a positional maneuver asks you to sit upright and restart that maneuver — resuming mid-position would measure against a zero that is no longer true.
Reminders are not arriving
Reminders are local notifications. If you declined the notification prompt, enable them in iOS Settings → Notifications → Recenter, then toggle reminders off and on again in More.
Your data
Everything Recenter records stays on your iPhone — there is no account and no server. To delete it, use More → Privacy → Clear all Recenter data, or delete the app. To share your history with a clinician, use Diary → Export to create a PDF or CSV. Full details are in the privacy policy.
What Recenter is, and is not
Recenter is a guided exercise coach. It paces vestibular exercises that you choose — it does not diagnose any condition, does not decide which exercise or which ear is right for you, and does not claim to treat or cure anything. Guidance from your own clinician is strongly recommended, and if a clinician gave you instructions, follow their exercise, side, dose, and limits.
